The receptionist is the first point of contact for patients and must greet/treat all patients and visitors in a friendly manner respectful manner.
This position requires the ability to multitask, prioritize, communicate and think critically, while maintaing composure.
The high visibility of this position requires a person who is well organized, pro active with a welcoming personality.
Must be willing to travel, as this position requires travel to the following office locations:
Dalton, Ft Oglethorpe, Calhoun and Chatsworth.

Responsibilities and Duties Provide continuous flow of information/communication for patients, technicians, opticians, and the doctor.
Answer incoming calls; including giving patients accurate information they request, making appointments, and transferring calls to the appropriate employee (or taking messages when unavailable).
Accurate charging and receipting of medical and optical transactions to patient accounts, and billing insurance as required.
Knolwedge of CPT and ICD-10 knowledge preferred.
Obtain insurance verifications when needed or requested by the patient.
Appropriately handle cash, checks, and credit cards associated with patient transactions.
Close daily business operations by generating and balancing the daily summary; as well as, closing the credit card machine, preparing the deposit, and maintaining the correct amount of petty cash resulting in a balanced deposit and drawer.
Confirm patient appointments.
Keep all work areas organized, and free of clutter.
Assist optician in ordering and dispensing of contact lens orders when needed.
Participate in optical inventory at mid-year and year end when needed.
Willingness to travel to the branch locations when asked to fill in.
Demonstrate a friendly and courteous attitude at all times (to patients and employees).
Willingness/Openness to recommended change.
Communicate with the business office manager ideas for change that would improve patient care, product/services offered, and office operations.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills A high school diploma or equivalent is required with one to three years of office experience desired.
This individual will be expected to master accurate data entry, appointment scheduling, filing, patient dictation and confidential handling of protected information with working knowledge of insurance plans and PEA procedures/protocols for the flow of information.
Critical thinking, troubleshooting and problem solving skills are required.
Accountability, initiative, integrity, patience and empathy are required to successfully fill this position.
